Extreme temperatures and drought have gripped the UK for many weeks. London is badly affected. Transport and power networks are failing, green spaces have become tinderboxes, public unrest is growing. Lewisham (or other venue area) has been badly affected. Community Emergency Response Teams have been set up to assist emergency services in the worst case. Training for major incident response has been begun. Citizens are attending training sessions. Todayʼs group are gathered for training. ALARMS GO OFF, SHUTTERS COME DOWN. “THIS IS NOT A DRILL. THIS IS NOT A DRILL!” Fires have broken out across Lewisham and are spreading rapidly. Petrol stations and power relays are exploding. Water supplies and water access are low. The Thames is the nearest useable water supply ...

An Escape Room Scenario where the audience are participants in a series of interactive challenges and puzzles to save the local area from WildFire (caused by Climate Catastrophe).

SMASHfestUK is a free festival, a movement and a research project aimed at increasing diversity (gender, ethnic and socio-economic) in STEM and the Arts education and careers, and a research project exploring methods for engaging with underserved audiences, creative participation, breaking down barriers to inclusion in STEM, and exploring identity and Science Capital in underprivileged communities.
